I'm a Warlock... man.

Altadis Warlock
Size: 4 3/4 x 54
Wrapper: Ecuadoran Cubano
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Dominican Republic, Nicaragua

My really great friend Scott bought me this cigar, by the way, I really enjoy it when someone hands me a cigar to try. Matter of fact, this one time (at bandcamp) Ernesto Perez Carrillo handed me a prototype cigar to try and critique. That was one of the greatest cigar honors of my life, what a guy!

So Scott tears off the price tag (he's Emily Post all the way) and hands it to me.

I don't know why but my first thought it seemed a bit gimmicky... but guess what? What a great smoke, very medium body, consistent nut flavor and almost a sweetness to it, hate to say chocolate to describe sweet but it seems to be way of things. " If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." - Ferris Bueller. I think around $7.00 should do, money well spent.

Papa

My good friend gave me this cigar, thank you! You're awesome man!!

This one should top off my birthday smoke celebration-extravaganza. The cherry on the proverbial tobacco sunday. This cigar always rates very high, almost a perfect score across the board. I'm ready!

Really Good Advice...

If you smoke a cigar and you really don't care for it, try smoking one more at a later time, do that before you decide to give up on it, you might be surprised - Lewis

Triple Siete! You can't go wrong...

777 By Jesus Fuego Belicoso
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo
Binder: Nicaraguan Corojo Filler: 2/3 Corojo 1/3 Criollo Medium Full-bodied
Nicaraguan puro using maduro or criollo wrapper from Jalapa Valley in Nicaragua,
This cigar has a corojo binder and a 2/3-1/3 split of corojo & criollo fillers.
Price: $5.50, Capital Cigars, Denver.

Geez, the above description sound really complicated! A lot more complicated than this smoke! I love this cigar, really great bang for the buck. Any cigar a guy named Jesus makes will probably be good.

There's pepper, and strong wood flavors for me, and a bit of some kind of mint on the tip of my tongue? It burns really well, the ash holds up evenly and it last a while. This is great maduro cigar for beginners, after they get used to smoking cigars. Not overpowering at all but still enough body to make it interesting and relaxing. Ya know, like you're really doing something now! One of my top ten, easily.

The best part, smoking with a friend!

Pappa

Edward's Pipe & Tobacco Shop
3439 South Broadway
Englewood, CO 80110
(303) 781-7662

I've heard so much about this place, was in the neighborhood so stopped in. Feels like you get a free hug for just walking in the door. I had a ton of fun hanging with the regulars, that's very unusual for walking in your first time.

The humidor is large, their prices are excellent. Two big smoking rooms but no TV, I like TV, a lot! But great seating none the less, well ventilated and very fast internet and parking in the rear.

I hang out at Capital Cigars, those are my boys, but this place will make a great satellite office!

J.Fuego 777 Zero

J.Fuego 777 Zero
Robusto 5×50
Wrapper - Ecuadorian Connecticut
Binder – Nicaraguan Corojo
Filler – Nicaraguan
MSRP – $5.50

Sometimes you can go home. 777 Zero is one of my favorite cigars, I don't know, can you really ever have an absolute favorite? When it comes to cigars, they are like friends to me, from time to time I'll have one or twenty best friends!
One of the most predictable smokes for me, smooth start, slightly peppery, leaves a great taste in your mouth. Stays lit, smokes evenly. A very good cigar for the money. I like to smoke the 777 to wind the day down, typically my last smoke of the evening if I'm doing more than one.
Today's Smoke: Don Diego Fuerte, Nicaragua
Price at about $6.00, Edwards in Denver

Decent smoke, very peppery to start and smooths out nicely as you go along. Stayed lit for the most part, ash was a little choppy Creamy middle and a bit more strong at the nib. Would not do again, there's too many others at this price range that I've enjoyed much more.

I did a bad, bad thing ;)
7111 West Alameda Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80226
Phone: (303) 274-8720

Found this place, very friendly staff! Decent prices, decent lounge, you can bring your own booze, high on the list!

Linda and Vanessa more than make up for a grumpy old owner. I read an article that said the older you are, the grumpier you naturally get... no shit.

They gave me a nice parting gift though :) I signed up for their events, looking forward to them!
Let's smoke: Carrillo Short Run
Size: 5 7/8 x 52
Wrapper: Ecuador
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Dominican Republic, Nicaragua
Beverage: Coffee, my second favorite.
Price: MSRP $7.00/Actual $7.90, The Tobacco Leaf, Lakewood

I have a special fondness for Carrillo smokes. I met Ernesto P. Carrillo a few weeks ago, quite by accident. He is a humble, generous man with a kind soul. You know right away when you meet him that he could be a friend for life.

None the less I've always like his new line of Carrillo cigars. The Short Run is easy to smoke, delicious and great for after lunch. A sweet flavor, nuts and maybe some coffee? Hard to tell because I'm drinking coffee with it. Definitely creamy.

I'd love to introduce this cigar to the Andeebear, I think she would love it.

By the way, I did what we use to do before the days of texting and so on. I called my friend to personally invite him to smoke. Friendships are much if you don't work on them, guess that's why I hate Facebook so much, you want to be "friends" but we don't even talk... I don't think that's a good thing, no matter how many billions you make.

Casa Magna Colorado Robusto... and losing a man.

So I hear this is the best selling cigar in the shop. Proves one thing to me, my pallet just isn't that sophisticated. I could tell somewhat a difference between this and less expensive cigars I've smoked and while it was enjoyable I just didn't think it was all that. Of course, tastes and pallets will vary with test subjects. I also found it somewhat one dimensional, even down towards the nib, that might be good for some but I like a little variance as I make the journey. Strong wooden flavors for me and not much spice.

So I texted my friend that I think has been avoiding me a bit to come smoke, he replied he'd rather go out for a drink. I'm fine with that, that's the great part of life, it's your own life and at the end you're the one that gets to die so you'd better make the choices you want. I won't ask again if he wants to smoke, he'll have to let me know if he wants to, I hate asking for something over and over again, you become a nuisance fast. Too bad, I'll miss his company but for all I know it's my fault anyway, I play rough, and actually I hope somehow we get to smoke together soon just the same.

My friend Lewis introduced me to something new today. The Smoking Hot Cigar Chick. This girl knows her stuff, very respected in the cigar community and fairly easy on the eyes.

She's got a great website, make a point to visit and bookmark.

Today's smoke, Stanley Papa House Wrap Maduro. Starting the day, afternoon of work, with a Maduro is getting to be more common for me. Decent smoke, especially for the $5.50 price. They won't say who rolls it for them. Some coffee, some cocoa, not bunches and nutty flavor.

More importantly tried the 3 match method to light. Failure but could have been much more patient with it. Keep Trying!

Kurt Xikar mentioned this cutter on FB this afternoon, the Xi3 Cocobolo Cutter. This thing is just flat out bad ass, I love it. Still, I think about a new Palio cutter a lot, but not in the budget at the moment.

Today's smoke, C+ I'd do it again if I came across them on sale or if someone gave me one.

I smoke cigars...

for the site of the smoke
for the aroma
sometimes for the taste, though that reason is becoming more common

Mostly because, I love cigars.

If you smoke, come up with your own reason, it might have to do with someone else but it can still be your own reason, know what I mean?
